– Current Support Worker

If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can help people build independence, achieve their goals and enjoy the things that matter most to them, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

We're looking for a caring and encouraging Support Worker to join our team in Newbury (RG14), supporting two young adults in their 20s with learning disabilities and autism who have recently moved into their first home together.

One person enjoys working as a kitchen assistant, gaming and sci-fi films. The other works at a local school, loves manga, the colour pink and values her own space and independence.

Both lead active lives, have strong family connections and benefit from support that balances encouragement with respect for their independence and downtime.

Your role will include:

  • Supporting independence and daily living skills
  • Providing verbal prompts for personal care
  • Supporting meal preparation, shopping and household tasks
  • Administering medication
  • Encouraging community activities and new experiences
  • Supporting budgeting, cooking and maintaining a home
  • Building confidence and helping people achieve their goals

Shifts include evenings, weekends and sleep-ins, with rotas provided in advance to support a healthy work-life balance.

About you

You'll be a great fit if you're:

  • Patient, encouraging and person-centred
  • A positive communicator and team player
  • Passionate about promoting independence
  • Respectful of personal boundaries and individual choice
  • Reliable, organised and adaptable
  • Someone who enjoys supporting people to achieve their goals

Experience is helpful but not essential — we'll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.

  • Flexible shift patterns to suit your needs
  • 30 days paid Annual Leave (including public holidays – pro rata)
