– Current Support Worker
If you're looking for a rewarding role where compassion, teamwork and meaningful relationships are at the heart of every day, we'd love to hear from you.
About the role
We're looking for caring and dedicated Support Workers to join our team in Bath (BA1), supporting eight adults aged 40–60 with a range of complex health and support needs.
This is a warm, welcoming service where every person is supported as an individual. You'll work alongside experienced colleagues to provide person-centred support to people with epilepsy, PEG feeding requirements, complex physical disabilities and communication needs.
As well as supporting health and wellbeing, you'll help people enjoy the things that make them feel good about themselves. For some of the ladies we support, this includes enjoying pamper sessions, choosing new clothes, shopping trips, hair and beauty appointments, nail care and maintaining personal routines that promote confidence and self-esteem.
The people we support enjoy a variety of activities, including:
Music and sensory sessions
Arts, crafts and baking
Gardening and outdoor activities
Shopping trips and community outings
Hair, beauty and pamper sessions
Choosing outfits and expressing their individuality
Spending time with friends, family and support staff
Family involvement is important, and you'll work closely with relatives and healthcare professionals to ensure every person receives the best possible support.
Your role will include:
Supporting personal care and daily living tasks
Administering medication and following healthcare plans
Supporting PEG feeding and epilepsy protocols (full training provided)
Following SALT guidance around feeding and communication
Supporting people with personal wellbeing, grooming and self-care routines
Accompanying people to shopping trips, hairdressers and beauty appointments
Encouraging choice, independence and participation
Building meaningful relationships and understanding individual communication styles
Supporting activities that promote wellbeing, confidence and quality of life
Shifts include mornings, afternoons, long days and sleep-ins, with rotas provided in advance to support work-life balance.
About you
You'll be a great fit if you're:
Caring, patient and person-centred
A positive and supportive team member
Comfortable supporting people with complex needs
Observant and attentive to individual communication styles
Respectful of different cultures, lifestyles and preferences
Someone who enjoys helping people achieve meaningful outcomes
Reliable, adaptable and willing to learn
Naturally interested in wellbeing, self-care and helping people feel good about themselves
Happy supporting activities such as shopping trips, choosing outfits, pamper sessions and beauty appointments
Comfortable supporting female health, personal care and dignity-related needs in a respectful and professional way
Experience in complex care is beneficial but not essential — we'll provide full training and ongoing support to help you succeed.
