About the roleWe’re looking for a proactive, sociable Support Worker to join our lively home in Woodley, where we support three gentlemen aged 30s, 50s and 60s with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs associated with Fragile X syndrome.
It’s a very active house – the people we support love staying busy and trying new experiences. You’ll be someone who brings enthusiasm, a good sense of humor and a passion for making every day fulfilling.
What they enjoy:
- Shopping trips, community activities and going to the cinema
- Bike riding and days out
- Visiting conventions like Comic Con and talking football
- Discos and social nights (including Friday disco!)
- Creative projects (they recently entered a Halloween competition building a tin man sculpture!)
- Holidays and family time
Your role will include:
- Providing some 1:1 support during the day and shared support within the home
- Personal care for one person (others just need prompting with daily routines)
- Medication administration and support when out
- Helping with meal preparation and healthy routines
- Making every outing fun – from discos to shopping trips
Families play a big part in the lives of the people we support, so positive relationship-building is essential.
Shifts- Day: 7:00am – 3:30pm
- Afternoon: 3:30pm – 10:00pm
- Sleep-in: 10:00pm – 7:00am + paid support until 9:30am (£50 for sleep-in)
- Some tailored 1:1 hours on Thursdays and Fridays (can be a long day or split shifts)
Rotas provided 4 weeks in advance for work-life balance.
