About the roleWe're looking for a caring, proactive and enthusiastic Support Worker to join our team in Shrewsbury (SY3), supporting two gentlemen in their 60s and 70s with learning disabilities, autism and dysphasia.
Support is provided on both a 1:1 and 2:1 basis, with some lone working required. You'll work across close-knit support settings in the Shrewsbury area, helping each person live the life they choose while providing practical and emotional support.

One gentleman communicates without words but understands spoken English well and uses additional signs of communication. Building strong communication and understanding individual preferences is an important part of this role.
Support includes:
• Supporting one gentleman with personal care
• Supporting mobility needs
• Supporting one gentleman with eating and drinking
• Meal preparation
• Administering medication
• Supporting communication using additional signs
• Supporting people to do the things that matter to them
• Working closely with families and colleagues to provide consistent support
Shifts• 10:00am – 4:00pm the following day (includes a sleep-in shift)
• 10:00pm – 8:00am sleep-in (£50 paid to sleep)
• Additional 2:1 hours are worked across the week to meet the needs of the people we support
Rotas are provided in advance to support planning and work–life balance.

• A driver with a full UK driving licence (automatic licence accepted)
Previous support experience is preferred as the role includes lone working and supporting people with complex communication needs.
