Location: Chippenham (SN14)

Hours: Part Time – 30 Hours per Week

Pay: £14.86 per hour + £50 per sleep-in shift

Driver Requirement: Full UK Manual Driving Licence Essential

We're looking for a caring, patient and resilient Support Worker to join our team in Chippenham (SN14), supporting a gentleman in his 50s with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy, bipolar disorder and sight loss.

This is a dedicated support role where consistency, trust and understanding are essential. You'll support him both at home and out and about, helping him maintain routines, manage anxiety and continue developing his independence.

He is full of character, enjoys having fun and has a great sense of humour. He loves music, especially anything with a good beat, and his collection of teddy bears plays an important role in how he communicates and expresses himself.

He enjoys:

• Spending time with people he knows and trusts

• Building his confidence and independence

• Exploring new opportunities at his own pace

• Enjoying quiet downtime when he chooses

He uses a limited vocabulary and his speech can sometimes be difficult to understand. He can become anxious or overstimulated at times, so learning how he communicates and recognising changes in his mood and wellbeing are important parts of the role.

Support includes:

• Supporting him with his personal care

• Meal preparation

• Administering medication

• Supporting mobility when out and about

• Providing reassurance and emotional support

• Following Positive Behaviour Support guidance

• Supporting him to build confidence and independence

• Supporting him during 2:1 outings when required

• Building a trusting and consistent support relationship

Every day is different, and you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference through patient, personalised support.

• 10:00am – 10:00am the following day (includes sleep-in)

• 7:00am – 5:00pm day shifts

• Some outings are supported on a 2:1 basis

Sleep-ins are paid at £50 per shift and cover hours from 10pm -7am.

Rotas are provided in advance to support planning and work–life balance.

Experience is not essential, but a positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to providing great support are essential.
