About Dimensions
Dimensions is a leading not-for-profit organisation supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to live fulfilling lives. We believe in a world where people with learning disabilities and autism are valued equally, listened to, and included. Our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do, and through our values-led culture, award-winning training, and strong focus on career progression, we empower you to make a meaningful difference every day. Whether you’re experienced or new to care, we will support you to succeed and grow.
About the Role
We are looking for a Part Time Support Worker to join a welcoming and lively home, supporting two women and one man with learning disabilities to live full, active and independent lives. The people we support are in their late 30s to 40s and enjoy busy, varied lifestyles, so we're looking for someone who shares their enthusiasm for getting out and about and making the most of every day.
This is a rewarding, person-centred role where you'll support people with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation and maintaining their home. You'll also support people to enjoy the things that matter most to them, whether that's horse riding, cycling, swimming, using public transport, enjoying days out or trying something new. Swimming is a particular favourite, so you'll need to be confident in the water and happy to get involved.
The home is full of fun, laughter and strong relationships. The people we support have great personalities and enjoy spending time with team members who are positive, approachable and up for a laugh. Building genuine connections is an important part of the role, and a good sense of humour will help you fit right in. One person especially enjoys friendly banter, so we're looking for someone who can bring warmth, personality and energy to their support.
This part-time position offers 12 hours per week, typically worked as a long day shift from 7:00am to 10:00pm, including a sleep-in. Shifts are worked across the week, including alternate weekends, giving you the opportunity to be part of a supportive team where no two days are ever the same.
About You
You will feel comfortable providing personal care and supporting people in all aspects of their daily lives, while also being enthusiastic about getting involved in hobbies both at home and in the community.
You should be patient, adaptable, and able to build strong, trusting relationships with the people you support. A sense of fun is important, as is the ability to engage with different personalities and communication styles. Confidence in the water and a willingness to take part in physical and outdoor activities is essential for this role.
A full UK driving licence is required, along with access to your own car and business insurance, as you will be supporting people to attend appointments using your vehicle.
