About the role
As a Support Worker, you'll work across multiple supported living services, supporting adults aged from their 30s through to their 60s. Every person we support is unique, with their own personalities, goals and support needs, so no two days are ever the same.
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about making a genuine difference in people's lives and has a real passion for helping people develop their skills, confidence and independence. You'll be committed to providing choice, creating opportunities and supporting people to live the lives they choose.
You'll encourage independence and support people with everyday living skills, helping them build confidence and achieve personal goals. Whether it's cooking a favourite meal, enjoying a long walk, visiting the coast, going bowling, shopping, attending appointments or exploring new interests, you'll play a key role in helping people get the most out of life.
You'll also provide support with personal care when required, medication, budgeting, household tasks and maintaining a safe, comfortable home environment.
We're looking for someone who is open-minded, positive and able to adapt their approach to meet a wide range of individual needs. As you'll be supporting people to access their communities and enjoy a variety of activities, a full UK driving licence is essential.
At times, some of the people we support may communicate that they are anxious, overwhelmed or distressed through their behaviour, which can sometimes include verbal or physical expressions. You'll receive the training and guidance needed to confidently follow individual support plans, recognise changes or concerns, know when to seek additional support, and use Positive Behaviour Support approaches to respond calmly, safely and consistently.
Above all, you'll be someone who values people, sees their potential and is committed to supporting them to lead fulfilling, meaningful lives.
Shift:
As you'll be providing support across a number of supported living services, shift patterns are varied and flexible. These can include shorter daytime shifts of 5-6 hours, half-day sleep-ins and full-day sleep-in shifts, helping to ensure the people we support receive consistent, high-quality support when they need it most.
