About the role
This is a rewarding opportunity to support three older adults living in a supported living bungalowe. The people we support have complex physical health needs and require thoughtful, person-centred support from a team that is caring, proactive and committed to getting the little things right. No two individuals are the same, and you'll take the time to understand each person's routines, preferences and support needs. Whether you're supporting someone to enjoy time in the garden, accompanying them to appointments such as hydrotherapy, assisting with meals, or simply ensuring they are comfortable and happy in their home, you'll play an important role in their daily lives.
The role involves providing full personal care, supporting with medication administration, meal preparation and specialist feeding support. Two of the people we support have SALT guidelines in place, and one person receives nutrition via a PEG feed, with full training provided. All three individuals use wheelchairs, and you'll make use of a range of specialist equipment including overhead tracking hoists, mobile hoists, a changing bed and a specialist bath. We're looking for people who can combine compassion with confidence. You'll need to be comfortable supporting people with complex needs, working in a hands-on environment and promoting wellbeing through safe, high-quality care.
The role requires flexibility to work a mixture of shifts, including days, sleep-ins and alternate weekends. Typical shifts include: 7:00am - 8:00pm, 8:00am - 8:45pm and long days with a sleep-in.
A full UK manual driving licence is essential, as you'll be required to drive the Motability vehicles used by the people we support to access appointments. There may also be opportunities to work across nearby homes, providing additional variety and experience within your role.
