About the role
At Condors Rest, you'll be supporting four remarkable men aged between their 30s and 50s, each with their own unique personalities, strengths, interests and goals.
This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys being active and helping others make the most of life. The gentlemen you’ll support love getting out and about, whether that's long countryside walks, scenic drives, trips to the beach, bowling, farm visits, discos, summer balls and community events. You'll also support people to pursue their individual interests, including sports activities such as trampolining and Ninja Warrior, gaming, Harry Potter, puzzles, animal experiences and quality time with family and friends. Some enjoy busy, social activities, while others prefer quieter days and having their own space, so you'll need to be adaptable and able to tailor your support to each person.
We're looking for someone with previous support or care experience who feels confident supporting people with autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy and complex needs. This role is hands-on and includes full personal care, medication support and encouraging people to take part in activities they love. You'll be a clear communicator, able to provide consistent support, especially for individuals who communicate in different ways.
A full UK manual driving licence is essential, as the people we support have their own vehicles and love getting out into their local communities.
Shifts: Flexibility is essential, as you'll work a variety of shifts, including weekends, sleep-ins, wake nights and the Christmas period. (8am - 3pm / 10am - 2pm / 3pm - 9pm / 3pm - 8pm and can vary in-between. - No lone working.)
About you
You're a compassionate, resilient and confident person who is passionate about making a difference. With previous care or support experience, you'll be comfortable supporting people with complex needs, autism, learning disabilities and epilepsy, always promoting dignity, independence and choice.
You’ll be an excellent communicator, able to adapt your approach to meet individual needs, including supporting people who communicate without words. Patient, observant and calm under pressure, you'll be skilled at building trusting relationships and responding positively to a variety of situations.
As a strong team player, you'll work closely with colleagues to provide consistent, person-centred support while following PBS approaches and support plans. You'll also be comfortable providing personal care, medication support and encouraging people to achieve their goals and enjoy meaningful experiences.
