– Current Support Worker

If you're caring, reliable and looking for a role where you can make a meaningful difference while helping people feel safe and supported through the night, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

We're looking for a compassionate Female Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Sutton Farm, Shrewsbury (SY2), supporting four young adults to live happy, independent and fulfilling lives.

The people we support are sociable, fun-loving and enjoy a wide range of interests including music, dancing, singing, musical theatre, cinema trips and spending time with family. Every individual has their own personality, preferences and routines, and you'll play an important role in helping them feel comfortable, reassured and supported overnight.

As a waking night colleague, you'll remain awake throughout your shift, carrying out wellbeing checks, supporting night-time routines and ensuring a calm, safe environment. The role may include personal care, supporting independence, record keeping and preparing for the day ahead.

Family members are actively involved, so maintaining a person-centred approach and supporting positive relationships is important.

About you

You'll be a great fit if you're:

  • Caring, patient and dependable
  • Confident working independently at night
  • Calm and reassuring in your approach
  • A good communicator and team player
  • Respectful of people's routines, choices and independence
  • Able to recognise when someone needs reassurance or quiet time
  • Committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred support

Experience is helpful but not essential — we'll provide all the training and support you need to succeed.

Rewards that make a difference

  • A competitive payrate with uplift for overtime you chose to work
  • Flexible shift patterns to suit your needs
  • 30 days paid Annual Leave (including public holidays – pro rata)
  • Opportunities for career progression
