Make every evening and night count as a Waking Night Support Worker with Dimensions.

About This Role

Dimensions is looking for a warm and resilient Support Worker to join our team in Droitwich. You will work three long waking night shifts each week, from 5pm to 7am. These are active shifts where you support people during the early evening while they are awake, and then ensure their safety and comfort throughout the night.

You will be supporting ten adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex health needs who live together in a shared supported living home. Family connections are important to them, and you will help them stay involved with the people they care about.

What the People We Support Enjoy

In the evening, you will be helping people take part in the activities they enjoy, such as:

  • Attending college (three people go each week)
  • Supporting someone who volunteers with Speak Easy
  • Computer gaming, reading comics, watching cartoons or spending time relaxing in the garden
  • Enjoying trips to the cinema, bowling or local parks

You will help make these moments possible before supporting people with their bedtime routine.

What You Will Be Doing

Evening support (from 5pm):

  • Enabling people to enjoy their chosen activities
  • Encouraging independence and confidence
  • Supporting with personal care where needed
  • Helping people end their day feeling calm and settled

Night-time support (throughout the night):

  • Completing regular checks to keep everyone safe
  • Responding to waking needs and offering reassurance
  • Supporting personal care needs such as bathroom visits
  • Encouraging healthy sleep routines
  • Keeping accurate notes and updates

This is a waking night role, so you will remain awake and alert for the full shift.
