We’re looking for kind, reliable people to become Support Workers in Colchester, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism to live life their way.

This position is to join our supported living home in Colchester, where you’ll support two women and one man to live independently, explore their interests, and thrive in their community.

This is a lively, engaging home where no two days are the same. You’ll be supporting across all three people, sometimes one-to-one and sometimes all together. They love baking, painting, arts and crafts, and getting out and about, whether it’s swimming, bowling, cinema trips, or dance classes. One person attends college and is preparing for work, another has a job and will need support getting to and from work, and the third enjoys daily social events at a local community centre.

We’re looking for someone who brings ideas to life, someone who can present new ideas in a fun, exciting way and isn’t afraid to think outside the box. Communication is key here, especially as one person benefits from Makaton (training can be provided). You’ll be supporting with personal care for the two women, including mobility support for one who walks with assistance. All three people require medication support, and you’ll follow SALT plans to support safe eating and drinking.

You’ll also help with cooking, meal planning, shopping, and keeping the home running smoothly. The rota runs on a two-week rolling pattern, with day shifts from 7am–10pm and every other weekend (usually one day). Holidays are a big part of life here too – one or two trips a year, with support staff joining to make it all possible.

This is a role for someone who’s passionate, reliable, and ready to make a real difference. You don’t need experience, just the right attitude and a willingness to learn. We’ll give you full training and support every step of the way.

Benefits include:

  • A competitive payrate with uplift for overtime you chose to work.
  • 30 days paid Annual Leave (including public holidays – pro rata).
  • Opportunities for career progression.
  • We offer a salary advance scheme where you can access up to 50% of the money you've earned before payday.
  • High Street Discounts – Retail and Entertainment (supermarkets, hospitality, pubs, cinema etc.)
  • Life Assurance and Company Pension.
  • Industry leading training.
  • Enhanced DBS paid for by us.
