How We Look After Our Colleagues

At Dimensions, we take the health and wellbeing of all our colleagues seriously. We have a number of initiatives in place to support our colleagues, including our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and access to Mental Health First Aid.

Dimensions is proud to have been recognised as a UK’s Best Workplace™ for Wellbeing for two years running, by Great Place to Work® UK!

What is the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)?

Our EAP scheme, provided by Care First, is designed to provide you with information, advice, and confidential practical or emotional support to help you deal with virtually all aspects of life, whether you’re experiencing stresses with work or home life, or need advice with legal or consumer issues.

At Dimensions, our EAP is part of our colleague benefits and wellbeing package, and assistance is available 24/7 over the phone, online, webchat or via the Care First App.

All calls and webchat conversations are answered by qualified counsellors who can provide in-the-moment counselling if needed, as well as practical advice.

Colleagues are also eligible for eight free counselling sessions, either face-to-face, by telephone or by video call (with BSL interpreter if required).

Mental Health First Aiders

At Dimensions, we have a network of Mental Health First Aiders to provide our colleagues with support in the event they experience issues relating to mental health.

Our scheme follows the guidelines set by Mental Health First Aid England and each of our mental health first aiders at Dimensions has been through rigorous and accredited training.

Mental Health First Aiders can:

  • Act as a point of contact to reassure colleagues in emotional distress or experiencing poor mental health.
  • Listen non-judgementally and hold supportive conversations.
  • Signpost colleagues to professional help.
  • Identify the signs and symptoms for a range of mental health conditions.
  • Use a five-step action plan to assist someone experiencing a mental health issue.

It is important to say that mental health first aiders aren’t qualified to provide counselling, diagnosis or ongoing support, and they cannot be available outside their normal working hours. However, remember that you can use the Employee Assistance Programme at these times.

Menopause Champions

We have launched a network of trained Menopause Champions across the Dimensions group to provide colleagues with support in the event that they experience issues relating to menopause. The champions are trained to help in the following ways:

  • Spot the early signs of menopause
  • Offer and provide initial help to a person experiencing menopause
  • Guide someone towards appropriate support
  • Understand the stigma that exists around menopause

Mindful Employer

Mindful Employer is a national initiative supporting a positive approach towards mental health at work. By signing the Mindful Employer charter Dimensions declares our ambition to support the mental wellbeing of our colleagues.
