Head of Housing Finance - Home Based

Reporting directly to Director of Commercial Finance, the role will lead all aspects of Housing finance, strategic and operational. As well as short- and long-term financial planning, the post holder will lead on Rents & Service charge setting, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met and Management Accounts, Budgets and forecasts are produced. This role includes full oversight of all accounting activities ensuring compliance in all Housing Related and regulatory reporting. They will also provide financial advice and support to the Housing team ensuring decisions are made in line with organisational expectations.

About the role 

Your main duties will include: 

• Leading on Financial Planning and long-term financial modelling, along with budgeting and forecasting
• Undertaking data and trend analysis of housing for the sector and other organisations to ensure continuous improvement and efficiencies of reporting and performance
• Lead the Rents and Service Charge setting and uplift processes, ensuring compliance with the Regulator of Social Housing’s Rent Standard.
• Lead, inspire and motivate the Housing Finance team (rents and service charge accountant and finance officer, property), enhancing the quality of data reporting and control. Managing the workflow of the team and providing support and professional development to ensure the team is equipped with adequate technical accounting knowledge.

About you

The successful applicant will have: 

• Qualified Accountant - ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
• Previous experience working in the Social Housing sector
• Able to apply analytical skills beyond the traditional functions of finance
• Experience of managing people
