Lead Support Worker
Dimensions is looking for a resilient, compassionate Lead Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting a young woman in her early 30s. This is a single-person, 2:1 home that requires someone confident, emotionally intelligent, and ready to lead by example.
She’s articulate, expressive, and enjoys social events like bowling, horse riding, and attending Dimensions’ Everybody Counts sessions. She loves Barbie and Only Fools and Horses and thrives on positive engagement. However, her support needs are complex.
You’ll be working closely with a Positive Behaviour Support specialist and using ProAct SCIPr training to implement evidence-based strategies. The PBS plan outlines her triggers and guides the team in managing challenging situations with empathy and consistency.
As Lead Support Worker, you’ll be responsible for coaching and mentoring staff, managing rotas, and ensuring high-quality support is delivered every day. You’ll play a key role in developing her independence, supporting her with personal care, and encouraging her to take ownership of daily routines like cooking. You’ll also be involved in one-to-one meetings, home reviews, and consulting with her family.
This role requires someone who can remain calm under pressure, respond professionally to accusations or verbal aggression, and maintain a strong sense of integrity. You’ll need to be confident in your practice, able to reflect and respond constructively, and always uphold the values of Dimensions: respect, courage, ambition, integrity, and partnership.
We’re looking for someone with a Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification, experience in PBS, and a genuine passion for helping people live fulfilling lives. You’ll be part of a team that’s not just delivering support but shaping a future.
