Start your day knowing you’ll make a difference - we are looking for a female to join our team of Support Workers in Goring- Worthing and create a positive difference that improves life for the people we support.

About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated part time support worker to provide one-on-one assistance to a young lady with Autism in her own home.  This young lady does not communicate with words so the ideal candidate will have a patient and understanding demeanor, as well as a genuine passion for supporting individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to ensure the safety and well-being of the young lady in her home and in the community.
  • Assist with daily activities such as trampolining, swimming, shopping, arts and crafts, and gardening, tailored to her interests and preferences.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages independence and social engagement.
  • Collaborate effectively with a small team of support workers, maintaining clear communication and consistency in care provision.
  • Flexibility to work on a rotational basis, including sleep-in shifts as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with Autism or similar developmental disabilities preferred, but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with the young lady and her family.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • Driving licence holders are preferred but not essential

Location: The position is based in Goring- Worthing, easily accessible by public transport. A separate bedroom is provided for staff within the young lady's flat.
