About Dimensions
At Dimensions, we believe in empowering our colleagues to grow and thrive. As an award-winning employer and one of the UK’s leading not-for-profit providers of support for people with learning disabilities and autism, we offer a values-led culture, specialist training, and clear career pathways. If you’re experienced and ready to take on a role that truly makes a difference, we’ll give you the tools and support to succeed.
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Waking Night Support Worker to join our team and provide specialist overnight support to one gentleman in his 40s who requires 24-hour support. He has a history of behaviours of distress, but with the right approach, he thrives in a structured and supportive environment.
The person we support is highly independent, he enjoys restoring furniture, gardening, chess, science experiments, playing guitar, shopping, and holidays. He prefers to be seen as part of the team rather than someone receiving support, so engagement and communication are key! The best approach is to involve him naturally instead of asking him to complete a task, simply express that you need help and watch him step in eagerly.
This role requires experience working with complex behaviours and confidence in managing situations that may escalate. You’ll be part of a team that values proactive engagement and communication.
About You
You’ll have previous experience as a Support Worker, ideally with exposure to complex needs and behaviours of distress. You’ll be resilient, adaptable, and committed to providing person-centred care. Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure are essential.
