Why Dimensions UK is the Best Place to Work?
Dimensions UK stands out as one of the best places to work because of its unwavering commitment to inclusion, respect, and person-centred support. As a not-for-profit organisation supporting people with learning disabilities and autism, Dimensions creates a culture that values every employee’s contribution and champions the people it supports. This isn't just a job, it's a chance to genuinely change lives.
Being a Support Worker at Dimensions is especially rewarding. You’re trusted to empower people to live their lives their way, supporting independence, building confidence, and being part of everyday milestones. One day you might help someone learn a new skill; another, you’re simply making sure they feel safe, happy, and understood. No two days are the same, and every day has purpose.
About the role:
You’ll be supporting four amazing gentlemen aged 50–62, all with great senses of humour and a love for music, singing, and baking. The home is full of fun and laughter, and you’ll be a key part of helping them live happy, independent lives.
You’ll work a two-week rolling rota (including earlies, lates, long days, mid shifts, wake nights, and alternate weekends). Personal care, cooking, cleaning, shopping, and attending appointments are all part of the role. One gentleman uses a wheelchair when out, and there’s occasional lone working during 1:1 support.
Each person supported has their own way of enjoying life. For example, one might say, “how I like my week to look” includes going out for car rides every day, he just loves being on the move. Another might say, “things that are important to me” are having time to bake with staff or enjoying a good sing-along with friends. Others enjoy crafts, going bowling, visiting local places, or planning a trip away.
A FULL UK manual driving licence and access to a car are essential, as there is no public transport available during key shift times.
