Support Worker

Full time or Part time Contracts available 22.5 - 37.5 hours per week

Mixture of shift patterns: including long days 7 - 10, short days, earlies/lates /mids alternate weekends and sleeps ins

We are looking for thoughtful, caring and inspiring people to join our team of support workers in Gosport (PO12)

You will be supporting 5 young gentlemen, all with Autism. They are supported in their own flats with cooking, cleaning. There are 2 individual's who display behaviours of distress which can be seen as challenging and require a sleep in person overnight. It is all about developing life skills and building confidence. They enjoy going to the pub, flip out (trampolining), ice skating, walks along the beech, looking for job opportunities.

**Greg** has 1-1 support and he loves the ballet, Princesses, theatre shows, complex jigsaws, strictly come dancing, music, swimming, bike riding and really enjoys planning for great days out. He also likes all thing magical.

**John** has a love for animals and enjoys feeding the foxes that come round in the evening. He’s a very positive person who is always learning new skills and achieving goals he sets himself.

**Damion** Really likes gardening and loves to run along the water front but due to his anxiety needs someone to do this with him. He can struggle with low moods so really wants someone who can provide him with plenty of encouragement to achieve the things he wants to.

**Philip** Loves anything and everything and gets excited about all things he likes to do. He loves to go out shopping and buy lots of bits and bobs and he likes to collect DVDs and stamps

**Stan** Likes to play computer games and is up for a challenge with anyone. He has a mobility car which he uses to go shopping and is looking for someone to go out with him on new adventures, so a driver would be ideal

Driving licence holders are preferred as there is a Manual Mobility Vehicle at property.

The Role:

  • Supporting with everyday task such as cooking, cleaning, laundry
  • Support with managing finances
  • Providing full support with personal care and manual handling
  • Medication administration
  • Supporting out in the community, taking to day centres and health appointments
  • Encouraging them to be as independent as possible
