Are you patient, creative, and looking to make a meaningful impact in someone’s life? We’re seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a close-knit team supporting a remarkable gentleman in his own home in SN15.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a well-established and supportive environment where trust, consistency, and understanding are key.

About the Person You’ll Be Supporting

This gentleman has autism and does not use words to communication but more so through vocalisations, gestures, and his beloved Charlie Bears, which he uses to express himself. He’s intuitive, sensitive to change, and thrives with a team that takes the time to build trust and understand his world.

Since moving into his own home, he’s made incredible progress—his confidence has grown, and incidents of distress have significantly reduced. His team is proud of his journey and committed to helping him continue to thrive.

Your Role

You’ll be part of a team that provides 24/7 support, including:

  • Personal care
  • 1:1 and occasional 2:1 support
  • Sleep-in shifts
  • Supporting with routines, transitions, and emotional wellbeing
  • Using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) – full training provided
  • Building trust and understanding his unique communication style

Shift Patterns

  • Long Day + Sleep-In: 9:30am – 9:30am the following day
  • Sleep-In Only: 10:00pm – 7:00am
  • 2:1 Support Hours: Flexible throughout the week for activities

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who is:

  • Patient and intuitive, with a calm but spontaneous approach
  • Creative and motivated, able to adapt and engage
  • Positive and resilient, with a genuine passion for person-centred care
  • Team-oriented, ready to join a strong, consistent support network
  • Willing to learn, especially around non-verbal communication and PBS

Experience with behaviours of distress is helpful, but full training will be provided.

Family Involvement

His family is very closely involved and values strong communication with the support team. You’ll be part of a collaborative and caring environment where relationships matter.
