At Dimensions, we’re guided by our values; Ambition, Courage, Integrity, Respect, and Partnership and we’re looking for people who share our values to join our team in Luton as a Support Worker.
About the Role
In this role, you’ll be supporting two gentleman in their 40s and 50s who live in their own supported living home.
One gentleman is sociable and enjoys getting out into his community, going to church, the cinema, playing pool or bowling, visiting charity shops, and exploring anything car related. The other gentleman prefers a quieter routine, often sleeping during the day and waking at night. He can experience anxiety and will benefit from your calm presence and emotional reassurance.
Both individuals are independent but need support in certain areas. You’ll help with tasks like preparing meals, encouraging healthy routines, managing medication, and providing gentle guidance around personal care such as prompting with hygiene or supporting in the shower when needed.
Your support will extend beyond the house too. Whether it's planning a cinema trip or joining them on a walk, you’ll help ensure they stay consistent with their interests and community.
What We’re Looking For
We’re not necessarily looking for experience, what matters most is that your patient, empathetic, and genuinely interested in helping others lead fulfilling lives. Supporting someone with anxiety means you’ll need to be emotionally intuitive, comfortable repeating answers when needed, and able to offer reassurance.
You’ll also need to be flexible, as support hours are a mix of shared and one-to-one. Some days you may support both individuals, while other times your focus may be with just one. During sleep-in shifts, you’ll be the only staff member on-site, so confidence working independently is important.
